Wednesday Readings: For Thine is the Kingdom...

The following citations from The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy were read during the June 29, 2011 Wednesday Testimony Meeting of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Chagrin Falls, OH. After the readings, those attending the meeting are encouraged to share proofs of God's care.  All are lovingly invited to attend the 7:30 p.m. Wednesday meetings at our church.

The Bible

For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever
For God is infinite, all-power,all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All.

Matt. 19:16-17 behold (to :)
behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?  And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:

Gen. 1:1 God,8 (to 1st .),10 (to :)
God created the heaven and the earth.

And God called the firmament Heaven.

And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas:

Gen 1:11,21 (to 2nd ,),25 (to :),26,27,31 (to 1st .)
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth,

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

Ps. 147:5
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Eccl. 8:4
Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?

Eccl 3:11,14 (to :)
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever:

Job 41:33-34 (to children)
Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.  He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children

Rev 22:14 (to 2nd ,)
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life,

Ps 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Ps 8:1,3-6,9
O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Josh 10:12-13 (to 2nd ,),13 Is,14 (to :)
Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed,

Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.  And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man:

19 and let (to ;)
Ps. 72:18,Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
and let the whole earth be filled with his glory;

Ps. 145:1,5,6 and I,9-13
I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

and I will declare thy greatness.

The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.  All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.  They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.  Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

Ex 33:7 Moses (to 1st .), 9 it (to 4th ,)
Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation.

it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle,

Ex. 40:35 and the
and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Ex. 33:9 and the,17 (to 1st ,),17 2nd thou,18,19,22
and the Lord talked with Moses.

And the Lord said unto Moses,

thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.  And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.  And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

Ex. 34:6-7 (to ,)
And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands,

Ex. 34:14 thou (to 1st :)
thou shalt worship no other god:

Ex. 34:8
And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.

I Chron. 29:10-13 Blessed be
Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.  Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.  Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Rev 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Ps. 115:1 (to 4th ,)
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory,

Matt 6:13 For
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  Amen.

Science & Health

By Mary Baker Eddy

SH 471:18-19
God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence.

SH 3:17-20 We
We admit theoretically that God is good, omnipotent, omnipresent, infinite, and then we try to give information to this infinite Mind.

SH 2:24-25
Can we inform the infinite Mind of anything He does not already comprehend?

SH 520:3-9
Unfathomable Mind is expressed.  The depth, breadth, height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all space.  That is enough!  Human language can repeat only an infinitesimal part of what exists.  The absolute ideal, man, is no more seen nor comprehended by mortals, than is his infinite Principle, Love.

SH 209:13
The immanent sense of Mind-power enhances the glory of Mind.  Nearness, not distance, lends enchantment to this view.

SH 102:9
There is but one real attraction, that of Spirit.  The pointing of the needle to the pole symbolizes this all-embracing power or the attraction of God, divine Mind.

SH 307:25-26 The
The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things.

SH 14:25
Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth.  This understanding casts out error and heals the sick, and with it you can speak "as one having authority."

SH 200:13
The Psalmist said: "Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands.  Thou hast put all things under his feet."

SH 381:20-21
Think less of the enactments of mortal mind, and you will sooner grasp man's God-given dominion.

SH 240:7 (only)
Suns and planets teach grand lessons.

SH 121:22-32
Science shows appearances often to be erroneous, and corrects these errors by the simple rule that the greater controls the lesser.  The sun is the central stillness, so far as our solar system is concerned, and the earth revolves about the sun once a year, besides turning daily on its own axis.    As thus indicated, astronomical order imitates the action of divine Principle; and the universe, the reflection of God, is thus brought nearer the spiritual fact, and is allied to divine Science as displayed in the everlasting government of the universe.

SH 188:31-189:3
Astronomy gives the desired information regarding the sun.  The human or material senses yield to the authority of this science, and they are willing to leave with astronomy the explanation of the sun's influence over the earth.

SH 189:8-13
In like manner mortals should no more deny the power of Christian Science to establish harmony and to explain the effect of mortal mind on the body, though the cause be unseen, than they should deny the existence of the sunlight when the orb of day disappears, or doubt that the sun will reappear.

SH 209:5-8
Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, the life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind.

SH 258:1
A mortal, corporeal, or finite conception of God cannot embrace the glories of limitless, incorporeal Life and Love.  Hence the unsatisfied human craving for something better, higher, holier, than is afforded by a material belief in a physical God and man.  The insufficiency of this belief to supply the true idea proves the falsity of material belief.

102:12
The planets have no more power over man than over his Maker, since God governs the universe; but man, reflecting God's power, has dominion over all the earth and its hosts.

SH 438:3-4
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion.

SH 515:21 (only); 516:19
"Let ^them^ have dominion."

Man, made in His likeness, possesses and reflects God's dominion over all the earth.  Man and woman as coexistent and eternal with God forever reflect, in glorified quality, the infinite Father-Mother God.

SH 502:14 the
the crude forms of human thought take on higher symbols and significations, when scientifically Christian views of the universe appear, illuminating time with the glory of eternity.

SH 531:10 The
The human mind will sometime rise above all material and physical sense, ex-changing it for spiritual perception, and exchanging human concepts for the divine consciousness.  Then man will recognize his God-given dominion and being.

SH 265:5
Mortals must gravitate Godward, their affections and aims grow spiritual,--they must near the broader interpretations of being, and gain some proper sense of the infinite,--in order that sin and mortality may be put off.

SH 264:28
When we learn the way in Christian Science and recognize man's spiritual being, we shall behold and understand God's creation,--all the glories of earth and heaven and man.

SH 202:17
The days of our pilgrimage will multiply instead of diminish, when God's kingdom comes on earth; for the true way leads to Life instead of to death, and earthly experience discloses the finity of error and the infinite capacities of Truth, in which God gives man dominion over all the earth.

SH 262:5-7
Christian Science takes naught from the perfection of God, but it ascribes to Him the entire glory.

S&H 143:26-31
Mind is the grand creator, and there can be no power except that which is derived from Mind.  If Mind was first chronologically, is first potentially, and must be first eternally, then give to Mind the glory, honor, dominion, and power everlastingly due its holy name.

SH 17:12-15
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
    glory, forever.
^For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over^
    ^all, and All.^
